What Are You Waiting For?

If you are thinking of selling your home, my first question to you today is:
What are you waiting for??
---> Rates are hovering around historic lows
---> A lack of inventory is driving higher prices
---> 2017 had appreciation rates of 8%
There has hardly been a time when selling a home was more attractive than now. This, of course, is assuming you are ready to move or you are ready to cash in your chips. Maybe you want to downsize? Maybe your kids have left the nest? Any number of reasons are reasons to call me today to discuss your options.
I don’t suggest it is a great time to sell because I think the market is due for a correction, or that this run of appreciation is nearing its end. Actually, it is quite the opposite! The market is healthy and strong right now. And if there is 1 thing I have learned with over 15 years in the business of Real Estate and Loans, things never stay the same for very long. The Real Estate and financial markets are cyclical businesses with many outside influences that determine their highs and lows. Another important rule I have learned in my work experience is when the market turns, it usually goes down much faster than it will rise. Although I believe there is likely more appreciation on the horizon, if you are feeling that your time frame is a shorter one, now is your time. Within a shorter time frame, you have less time to withstand a shift in the market, so you need to jump on board sooner rather than later.
Rates are likely to continue to climb and inventory will have to increase at some point. There are a lot of factors going on in the world right now that could, in the short term, have an effect on the market in a big way. To the seller who’s considering selling soon, this presents risk.
